A New Work

Funeral of a Friend - charcoal and gouache sketch - 8"x10"
It's been a while since I have posted anything so, I thought I would post a sketch that I have made for a new piece today just to keep my hand in. It is a one of a series that I am working on of this theme. I've been inspired by Martha Miller's work and am planning to produce this in charcoal and um-m-m acrylic on paper. In it I'm portraying some of my fascination with rootlessness, the 'On the Road' lifestyle, and the Hobo life. Prosaically, it's the burial of one of these wanderers in a junkyard (junkyards, something else I love). The graffiti graphic is a design that I am working on that I call Compass Rose. Have a good weekend.

Brad, had no idea how creative you are, especially back in the late 70's when you lived in Newnan Ga.

Great pictures, love them!

Someone from your past.
